George J. Awad focuses on assisting and investing-in companies to harvest the greatest value through their life cycle, inclusive of product commercialization, capital financing (private and/or public), intellectual property monetization, roll up, and/or structuring liquidity events.  In this context, George has worked with domestic and international private and publicly listed companies to develop, deploy, and execute comprehensive financial, technology, intellectual asset development, commercialization, and monetization plans with aplomb. George has also founded, grown, and exited from several technology-focused start-ups across various industries including distributed/cloud computing, energy optimization, pharmaceutical products, and business services. 

Most recently, George has advised a number of portfolio technology companies delivering value through operational, corporate & legal affairs, capital raise, and commercialization services.  These technology companies include: Microsoft, eBay, Biomeme, Unilog, Angeion group, Go2, WorkMerk, SalesDryve, and STEMchain. 

Additionally, George through his consulting firm, IAMG, has collaborated with various investment funds and platforms inclusive of Forge Intellectual Capital, and Knox Investment Group (the Family Office of Thomas J. Knox) acting as managing director and general partner.  In this capacity, George was responsible for strategic investment, business development, syndicated investment, and operational oversight of a diverse investment portfolio spanning domestic and international direct investments, PE/Venture Fund investments, equities, fixed income, and real-estate investments. George also led investment committees, and coordinated the sourcing, due diligence, presentation, and analysis of pipeline investments.

George has over twenty-five years of experience in technology, law, and finance. A graduate of the Moore School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, George earned a B.S.E., in Electrical Engineering. George then earned his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law. Additionally, George returned to the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, to complete certificate coursework in finance and accounting. 

George is licensed in Pennsylvania and California as well is a registered patent attorney before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. George is admitted to practice in state and federal courts inclusive of the United States Supreme Court and United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

As an engineering student at Penn, George was an integral member of the Solar Car Racing where he participated in the design, construction, testing, and actual racing of the “Liberty Belle” solar race car (from Battery Park in Manhattan to Philadelphia).  After a gap year working as a systems analyst for a US company in Dusseldorf Germany, George earned his law degree from Pepperdine University, School of Law. 

Previously, George worked for Woodcock Washburn and then Drinker Biddle focusing initially on intellectual property – patent portfolio management, licensing, and litigation and then added an additional focus of corporate law. After over ten years in private practice representing the gambit of client types and sizes (from startups to Fortune 100 companies), George founded IAMG to share his value-driven model with the market. 

George is active supporter of quality education and the arts sitting or having had seats on the boards of Rowan University Foundation, Independence Charter School, and the “Philly Pops”.
